Gratitude

There is a mixture of gratitude and grief that has sunk in this week.

Gratitude for the many beautiful and amazing people in my life. Grief for the loss of those friends that I may never see again.

It is a beautiful and heartbreaking thing to be part of a community that is far away from home knowing that I might never see them again after this summer.

Yet, one thing has been made very clear to me.

I am thankful.

Thankful for those people I have met and become friends with. I’m so thankful for the fact that God has given them to me as gifts in my life.

It hurts to know that I may not be reunited with them ever again, but in the midst of it all, there is deep seeded gratitude.

Be thankful for the people in your life.

As the saying goes “No one knows what they have until it is lost”
