Undefeated

So, you know how sometimes you keep working towards something and don’t really see a result?

I’m talking about all of the long hard hours that you’ve put into working on that project or the hours you’ve invested in accomplishing your dream.

I think there’s such a big temptation in giving up. And people do. All the time.

So, what motivates us to keep going?

Sometimes, it’s a personal goal and the stubbornness you inherited from your mother or father ;). But most times, it’s that there’s a bigger reason behind the endurance. A promise that you made to a loved one. A firm belief that it will shape you into a better person. A desire to obtain that goal no matter how many people don’t think it’s realistic because you know it’s worth it.

During the past couple of weeks, I’ve struggled to keep pushing forward. It sucks when all of that effort that you put into that paper only receives a C-, or that project that you thought was so perfect only gets a mediocre rating. I struggle to believe that my books will ever become successful because I know that there are better marketers out there than me. It’s just the honest truth.

Now, as I asked before: why do we keep going?

I know that my answer is simple. Because I will be simply satisfied by the one person who sees my post, excerpt, story, or book and is touched by it. It doesn’t matter if they liked it or not. It might give them something to think about. Someday, when I’m with Jesus and He shows me what He did through me, I will completely be satisfied.

You see, it was never about me in the first place. It was about Him and showing love to others through my gifts and talents.

So, why do you keep fighting for your dream?

I’m honestly interested in knowing. Feel free to email me and share :)
